In addition to all of the fun you’ll have celebrating with us, there are plenty of other things to do if you find yourself with some down-time over the weekend. These are a few of our favorite things to do around town on a weekend afternoon:
- » Wander the Yale Art Gallery
- » Lounge in the Beinecke Library
- » Grab brunch at the Pantry…
- » …or almond croissants at Marjolaine
- » Stroll through the Grove Street Cemetery (tours on Saturday)
- » Visit the crypt under the Center Church on the Green (Saturday only)
If you have a car and enough time, there are even more great things to do nearby:
- » Pick apples (or raspberries) at Bishops Orchard
- » Navigate the Corn Maze at Lyman Orchards
- » Visit BF Clyde’s steam-powered cider mill (about an hour away)
- » Cruise the Thimble Islands
In addition to our own favorites, Yale is having an open house on Saturday with more activities than we can list here. You can find more about that at http://inauguration.yale.edu/openhouse. Plus we have a few activities planned for Sunday morning and early afternoon. See more details at http://www.lizplusandrew.us/events/sunday-activities/
