Train is the Hammond/Swartzell preferred mode of transportation, and New Haven’s Union Station is very close to downtown! Both Amtrak and the Metro North Railroad make stops here in New Haven.
There is a Free Shuttle to downtown from the station that runs Monday through Friday. Look for the green buses, and find schedules and stop locations here at http://www.cttransit.com/
Want a cab? You may find one right in front of Union Station, but all you need to know is 7! Dial 203-777-7777, and MetroTaxi will come find you and take you wherever you would like to go.
